Lynch played his first AFL game for the Gold Coast in round 7, 2011 against the Brisbane Lions. Playing in the forward line as well as in the ruck, he amassed 17 possessions and kicked two goals as the Gold Coast went on to win the game by eight points. In the 2015 season, Lynch won the Gold Coast leading goalkicker and also won the Gold Coast Suns Club Champion. In 2016, he backed up these achievements by winning his second successive Gold Coast Suns Club Championship and he was the Gold Coast leading goalkicker for the third time. On 24 May 2017, it was announced that he would wear number 50 on his jersey, rather than his usual 19, for the round 10 Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round game against Melbourne. This was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum which recognised Indigenous Australians in the census.
